As you are reading this Blog it is probably fair to assume that you are interested in the Borough of Newcastle – its town centre, suburbs and rural communities. You may have fond memories of how it was. You may have strong views about how it is and hopes for its future.
It can seem difficult as individuals to influence the way our surroundings evolve to meet the changing needs of our community whilst preserving our heritage and the character of the area.
Too often people don’t notice what is happening until it is too late to influence developments.
The Civic Society keeps abreast of local issues and is involved before decisions are taken.
We are a group of very different individuals who, together, can make a difference.
If you are already a member of the Civic Society you will know that we send out the comprehensive minutes of our monthly meetings so that you, too, are kept informed and can have your say.
If you are not yet a member please consider contacting us to find out more.
As you are reading this Blog it is probably fair to assume that you are just the sort of person for whom the Civic Society exists.
